BSRT Advisory Panel member Christopher Greenwald’s opening remarks highlighted the top-of-mind sustainability topics for the capital markets today, including AI scaling, Biopharma Innovation, Access to Medicines, and Human Capital, as well as systemic risks arising from Climate and Nature, and AMR. The conversation, with over 20 biopharma and investor representatives, also underlined business prerequisites for long-term value creation, such as solid Governance.

Our 8th annual Regulatory and ESG Policy Outlook with the ECO:FACT team – Olivier Jaeggi, Managing Director, Alba González, Regulatory Advisory Lead, and Marta Barretta, Environmental Law Specialist – brought us up to date on regulatory changes in the EU, rollout of the ISSB reporting standards via national adoption, and growing legislative activity on forced labour and human rights. New biosynthetic methods and a recent USP equivalence ruling are driving the move away from Horseshoe Crab blood-derived testing reagents—impacting biodiversity, innovation, and supply chains. A focused group of Biopharma sustainability leaders and Biopharma sector investors convened for a direct conversation about the sector’s highest priority ESG/Sustainability topics, sparked by initial group survey results.
